🚀 Photon Lines signs a new LabCom with the CNRS, ESPCI Paris PSL (PMMH laboratory), Sorbonne University and Université Paris Cité, with the support of the ANR

On September 22, 2026, we officially inaugurated the LIVO LabCom in Paris, alongside our academic partners: CNRS, ESPCI Paris – PSL, Sorbonne Université and Université Paris Cité.

Supported by the ANR, the French National Research Agency, this joint laboratory has received €363,000 in funding over 54 months and marks a new stage in our R&D approach.

🤝 A long-term collaboration
The LIVO LabCom is the culmination of 8 years of collaboration with the « Flow Control » team of the Physics and Mechanics of Heterogeneous Media (Laboratoire PMMH ) laboratory.

Since 2018, two CIFRE theses have made it possible to bring together scientific expertise and industrial know-how, with the key to the development of an optical velocimetry technology capable of measuring fluid velocity in real time, at high frequency and high resolution.

One of the results of this collaboration is eyePIV, a solution based on GPU-accelerated optical flow algorithms that allows 2D2C velocity fields to be calculated in real time, directly during the experiment.

With the LIVO LabCom, we are taking the next step
Over the next 54 months, Photon Lines engineers and PMMH researchers will continue their joint work to:
🔹 Enhance real-time analytics capabilities
🔹 develop new features;
🔹 Extend the applications of these technologies to new scientific and industrial fields. Aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, transport, microfluidics, health, process engineering, ventilation and geophysical flows: these are all areas in which these tools can contribute to a better understanding and characterization of complex flows.

This new collaboration illustrates our conviction: technological innovation is also built over time, at the crossroads of academic research and industrial expertise.
